The two AK weapons, four magazines, 90 bullets, a handgun, a bag, and Rs. 2100 in Pakistani cash, according to him, marked the end of the operation.

“In a joint operation by police in Kupwara and the Army, an infiltration attempt was successfully thwarted in the Kumkadi area of the Machil sector in Kupwara district,” the military spokesman headquartered in Srinagar said. Two terrorists were put to death in this efficient and well-organised operation.

He said that many intelligence reports on the intrusion attempts by a group of two to four foreign terrorists in the Machil area of Kupwara were received from the J&K Police, Army, and other intelligence agencies. According to the army spokesperson, on September 29 at night, the Army and J&K Police conducted a coordinated operation in the approximate vicinity of Gucchi Nar in the Machil region.

He said that many ambushes had been set up in front of his side of the LoC barrier.

“The region is very wooded and has quite dense vegetation. On Saturday, about 10:40 am, the ambush party saw two terrorists moving from the Pakistani side and spotted them moving in the direction of the LoC wire. Terrorists attempted to cross the LoC under the cover of thick vegetation, but the ambush group maintained perfect tactical surprise, and a shootout occurred that resulted in the instantaneous death of one terrorist. The second terrorist was later killed in the subsequent gun battle, according to the defence spokesperson. ” Thereafter, a search of the region was conducted, and two terrorists’ corpses were found there. A handgun, two hand grenades, two AK series rifles, 90 rounds of AK ammo, Rs 2100 in Pakistani cash, winter clothes, war-like supplies, and other items were also found. A thorough search of the region is still being conducted while the operation is ongoing.

He said that by doing this, Pakistan’s evil plans to enable terrorists and thwart peace and progress in Kashmir had once again come to light.

According to the spokesperson, “the high level of synergy between security forces and intelligence agencies has once again proven to be very effective in thwarting infiltration attempts and eliminating terrorists along the LoC.”
