At a meeting with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on August 9 in Srinagar, a delegation from the Kashmir Traders Alliance brought up the problem of the poor pace of the Smart City initiatives.

According to a statement released here, the KTA President, Aijaz Shahdhar, led a delegation to the Divisional Commissioner to complain about the slow progress being made on the smart city project outside the SMHS hospitals at Karan Nagar, which is causing traffic congestion, halting the movement of ambulances, and inconveniencing patients, as well as local shop owners.

Most individuals who commute to SMHS or SKIMS from Batamaloo and Karan Nagar utilise this road connection, and Shahdhar claims that the Divisional Commissioner was made aware of this fact.

According to Shahdhar, the Divisional Commissioner has promised a speedy resolution to the issue.

A business delegation met with the Divisional Commissioner to address these issues and others of significance to the business sector.

The Divisional Commissioner has committed to fixing the issues raised by the KTA delegation, as stated in the statement.
