Srinagar, September 1st, 2018 – On Friday, President of India nominated Mir Syed Latif to the position of Judicial Member on the Srinagar Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

Ms. Latif has been appointed for a term of four years beginning on the day she assumes responsibility for the position, or until she reaches the age of 67, whichever comes first, or until further directives are issued.

The ruling states, “The terms of employment of Shri Mir Syed Latif as Judicial Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal will be regulated by the provisions of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021 and Rules established thereunder, as modified from time to time. To quote the ruling: “Mir Syed Latif is advised to join CAT, Srinagar Bench within 30 days from the date of issue of this order failing which the appointment shall be treated as cancelled.”

Sanjeev Gupta, a District Judge, was also selected by the President to serve as a Judicial Member in CAT.

Government officials have recommended that he register with the CAT, Jammu Bench within the next 30 days.

Similar to the position of Judicial Member in CAT, Advocate Rajinder Singh Dogra was likewise appointed by the President.

“Rajinder Singh Dogra is advised to join CAT, Jammu Bench within 30 days from the date of issue of this order, failing which the above appointment shall be treated as cancelled,” the ruling stated.
