The weather in much of Jammu and Kashmir remained clear on October 10 despite overnight showers in the lowlands and snowfall in the higher elevations. The meteorological agency forecast mostly clear skies until October 13 this week.

An official from this city’s meteorological department informed GNS that although there is a potential of a short period of rain or snowfall over higher elevations, “chances are less.”

From October 11 to October 13, he predicted that the weather will mostly be dry.

He predicted that between October 14 and 17, there will likely be sporadic mild to moderate rain and snowfall over higher levels in various locations across Jammu and Kashmir, with probability ranging between 60 and 70%.

According to him, Srinagar experienced 16.7mm of rain during the period from yesterday night to this morning at 8:30 a.m., Qazigund 17.2mm, Pahalgam 16.6mm, Kupwara 3.6mm, Kokernbag 21.0mm, Gulmarg 26.6mm, Jammu 27.5mm, Banihal 30mm, Batote 35.2mm, Katra 32.4mm, and Bhaderwah 18.4mm. (GNS)
