New Delhi, September 9: The Ministry of Home Affairs denied Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s claim that he would miss the G20 dinner on Saturday because of air restrictions in and around Delhi. They also said that governors and chief ministers could still travel on their state aircraft.

In a series of tweets, an MHA Spokesperson said, “A news report says that Chief Minister Chhattisgarh said he couldn’t go to the G20 dinner at the Leaders’ Summit in Delhi on September 9, 2023, because of air restrictions in and around Delhi.”

“MHA has told the State that even though high-tech security air cover has been set up for the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Delhi from September 8-11, 2023, Governors and State Chief Ministers are still free to move around on their State aircrafts,” the Spokesperson said in another tweet. Some news stories said that Chief Minister Baghel wouldn’t be able to go to the President’s G20 dinner because there were no non-scheduled planes coming in or out of Delhi because of security steps for the G20 Summit this weekend. This is why the MHA responded.
