SRINAGAR December 25: Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, the former vice chairman and chief engineer of the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), departed this life on Sunday after a short illness. He was seventy-three.


The late Muhammad Yousuf Bhat was living in Rajbagh, close to the police station, although his original home was in the Fateh Kadal neighborhood of downtown Srinagar.
On Sunday, December 24, 2023, after battling cancer at SKIMS, Srinagar, he passed away. His son, wife, and daughter survive him. Muhammad Amin Bhat, a merchant, had an older brother who passed away.

The deceased’s family was notified that congregational prayers would be performed at his home, which was located next to the Rajbagh Police Station. The deceased’s chahrum is scheduled to take place at his home on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Bhat was well-known for taking the initiative to carry out a number of development and civil projects in Srinagar and other district headquarters. Bhat received a great deal of recognition from his peers for his compassionate nature and willingness to lend a helping hand.

He did, in fact, leave us with happy memories and an irreplaceable loss. We ask the Almighty to provide his precious ones with courage to get through this trying and trying moment.”
