On Tuesday, October 24th, police in Rajouri, India, arrested a known drugs dealer and seized a shipment of narcotics powder, pills, and a weighing machine as part of an ongoing crackdown on those engaged in the smuggling of narcotics and the enticement of youngsters to this illegal activity.

Sheraz Ahmed @Raja @Billu, son of Mohammad Azam, a resident of Pahata Thanna in the Darhal police station in the Rajouri district, has been named as the accused.

A team of police from Rajouri led by Deputy SP Headquarter Mudassir Hussain and a team of police from Darhal led by SDPO Thanamandi Khaliq Hussain, along with members of the police force’s Anti-Drug Squad, conducted a raid in the village of Darhal and apprehended the suspect, according to the police.

In addition to the narcotic powder and pills, police also found a little weighing machine the suspect had been using to sell the drugs.

A complaint, FIR No. 95/2023, was filed at Police Station Darhal under relevant parts of legislation, and an investigation was initiated after the materials were confiscated and the alleged peddler was apprehended.

According to SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh, scores of arrests have been made and shipments have been confiscated as part of the J&K Police’s “zero tolerance policy” against narcotics peddlers in the Rajouri area.
