Narcotics shipment of 9 kilograms found by police on Line of Control in Rajouri

On Friday morning, 28 July, security personnel in the district of Rajouri conducted an operation along the Line of Control in the Jhangar region of the Nowshera sub division and retrieved a shipment containing a narcotic substance.

Jammu and Kashmir police, the Indian Army, and the BSF collaborated on the operation based on particular information.

Amritpal Singh, the senior superintendent of police in Rajouri, claimed that an operation was begun in the LoC region of Jhangar in the Nowshera sector based on specific intelligence information.

Police, an army unit from the region, and the Border Security Force (BSF) collaborated on this operation, during which they roped off the area and performed thorough searches.

SSP Rajouri said that during this operation, they were able to capture and take custody of five packages of drugs weighing a total of 8 kilogrammes and 960 grammes.

Nowshera police have opened case FIR 171/2023 U/Ss 8/21/22 NDPS Act, and investigations continue.

According to Singh, the proper legal procedures and investigations into the incident are already underway.

The large amount of drugs found on the Line of Control suggests an effort at smuggling them over the border, he added.
