Jammu Srinagar National Highway is open for traffic today

Due to the need for emergency maintenance at Dalwas Ramban, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) would be closed to all vehicle traffic from Nashri in the direction of the NAVYUG Tunnel and vice versa. People are urged to avoid travelling on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway tomorrow, October 22nd, 2023, and to adjust their travel plans accordingly. Mughal Road, on the other hand, is accessible to automobile traffic.


The SSG Road
Movement of vehicles along the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari route would be permitted from both directions, namely from Srinagar in the direction of Kargil and vice versa, provided that the weather is favourable and the road is in excellent condition. Between the hours of 7:30 and 1100, only LMVs, followed by HMVS, will be permitted to travel from Minamarg in the direction of Srinagar. In the same fashion, light motor vehicles that are followed by heavy motor vehicles will be permitted to go from Sonamarg towards Kargil between the hours of 1300 and 1700. After the designated cutoff times, no vehicles will be permitted.
At 8:00 in the morning, the Special Forces Convoy that travels from Srinagar to Kargil will depart from Srinagar. The SFs Convoy that travels from Drass to Srinagar is required to organise its journey in such a way that there would be no disruptions to the flow of civil traffic.
Road to the Mughals:
Vehicle traffic on the Mughal route will be permitted to go in both directions, from Poonch in the direction of Shopian and vice versa, provided that the weather is pleasant and the road is in excellent shape. These automobiles will be permitted to travel between Behramgalla (Bufliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. After the time limit has been reached, no vehicles will be admitted.
