National Sports Day 2023 was observed in Srinagar by the Sector Head Quarter (Special Operations) of the SSB.
The sports day is taking place from August 21 to 29, according to a statement from the SSB. It is observed to honour hockey icon Major Dhyan Chand and the history of Indian sports.

“Sports as an enabler for an inclusive and fit society” is the subject of this year’s festival, according to the statement.
H.B.K. Singh, DIG, SHQ (SPL-OPS) SSB Srinagar, officially opened a number of sporting events at the SSB (SPL-OPS) Srinagar sector headquarters complex and administered the Fit India Oath to all staff members.
