No MRs are allowed on hospital grounds; only generic medications may be prescribed: SMS from SKIMS

Srinagar, July 25: On Tuesday, the SKIMS management limited the number of times that medical representatives may visit the hospital.

According to a circular issued by SKIMS and cited by the news source Kashmir News Observer (KNO), “it has been conveyed by Director General Health Services, Government of India and endorsed by Director SKIMS & Ex. Officio Secretary to Government, that all the medications prescribed in Government Hospitals should be Generic Medicines only and not in any case branded medicines.”

“In this respect, it is again emphasised that trips by Medical Representatives to the locations of Government Hospitals are strictly prohibited. Any updates on fresh launches should only be sent through email, it continued.
