“Normality does not exist anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. When it comes to Rajouri, it was a peaceful, non-militarized place in our day. However, interactions happen all over the place these days, every day. Speaking to reporters outside of a workers’ convention in Sumbal Bandipora, former chief minister Omar Abdullah said, “Those claiming normalcy are not only befooling themselves but the people of the entire country.” Claims of normality and tranquility in J&K, he claimed, are “mere pranks.”

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attacked the PM Modi-led BJP administration, claiming that it is afraid of our presence in the area and is avoiding having democratic elections. “The BJP is afraid of our standing. That explains why the BJP postponed the J&K Assembly, Panchayat, and ULB polls, he remarked.

In response to a question, Omar said, “I’m not saying that everyone in J&K will vote for NC whenever elections are held, but we’ll do everything in our power to persuade people.” People are responding well to our party’s public conventions, which are being held all around the country. Although I won’t guarantee that everyone will vote in support of the National Conference (NC), we will make an attempt to persuade them all,” he said.

He continued by saying that the party’s upper echelon will convene and discuss potential candidates from north Kashmir to run in the next parliamentary elections. The leadership of the NC will deliberate on all aspects of the matter and present a deserving candidate to run in the parliamentary elections from North Kashmir. He said that the party’s high leadership will make a decision on it shortly.
