Srinagar, September 19 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that it was a pleasure for them to have the chance to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir from the Parliament House, as this was a crucial step in the battle against terrorism and separatism.

In the historic Parliament building, PM Modi spoke to a combined session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

According to PM Modi, each member of the Parliament was essential to the repeal of Article 370.

He said that the Parliament’s unanimous passage of the bill against “triple talaq” was responsible for Muslim mothers and sisters receiving justice.

“Parliament has also established legislation in recent years that provide transgender people with justice. We have worked together to enact legislation that will ensure the special needs community has a bright future. It is an honour for us that the Parliament has given us the chance to repeal Article 370,” he said.
