No job may be more holy than the duty undertaken for the country’s security, according to Commandant Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, who spoke at the ceremony. We shall always carry in our hearts and souls the sacrifice and devotion of our martyrs.

A historical analysis of Police Commemoration Day was also provided by Commandant Sharma. The Chinese Army attacked a CRPF patrolling unit at Hot Spring, Ladakh, on October 21, 1959, in a sad episode that was described by the speaker.

“Since that fateful day, Police Commemoration Day has been observed annually to pay tribute to the police martyrs who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” he said.

Sanjeev Kumar Sharma led a two-minute moment of silence at the conclusion of the ceremony in honour of the brave men and women who had given their life in defence of the country, along with all of the officers, junior officers, and jawans of the 53 Battalion CRPF.
