Ganderbal, Jan. 3: On Wednesday, police in the Wakoora region of the Ganderbal district in central Kashmir annexed 10 marlas of land belonging to a terror suspect.


According to a statement provided to KNS, the land was owned by Lateef Ahmad Kambay, son of Gh Mohd Kambay, who lived in Wakoora. This information is related to Case FIR No. 110/2022 U/S 353 IPC, 13, 18, 23, 38, 39 UA (P) Act, 7/25 I.A. Act, and 207 M.V. Act of Police Station Ganderbal.

This action is part of continuing efforts to combat acts covered by the Unlawful Acts Prevention Act (UAPA), according to the statement.

The accused is being held in Central Jail, Srinagar, and is now on trial. The property is attached in accordance with UA (P) Act UA 33 (1), it states.

The operation, it said, “underlines the commitment of the police to curb unlawful activities,” especially those that may have relation to crimes against J&K.

“Such actions contribute to the greater objective of guaranteeing the safety and security of the region and are essential to the upkeep of law and order. The move conveys a clear statement about the zero-tolerance policy against acts of terrorism that endanger the peace and tranquility of the community.
