In a post on X (previously Twitter), Modi stated, “He (Shah) is passionate about India’s development and improving the standard of living for the impoverished. His contributions to the improvement of India’s security apparatus and the expansion of the cooperative sector have distinguished him as an exceptional administrator.

The prime minister praised Shah’s contribution to the strengthening of the BJP and wished him “a long and healthy life.”

Other prominent BJP leaders, such as Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, also sent him birthday greetings.

Shah is an inspiration for party activists, according to J. P. Nadda, president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He praised Shah’s exceptional patriotism, sincerity, and organisational skills.

Home Minister Shah is a close confidant of the prime minister from Gujrat, where they both served as chief minister and home minister before playing a crucial role in the rise of the BJP on the national stage together.

In 2014, he served as national president of the BJP, and in 2019, he led the BJP to a larger majority at the centre.

Shah entered the second Modi administration as a cabinet minister and played a key role in the fulfilment of the governing party’s founding promise to repeal Article 370, which granted Jammu and Kashmir special rights.
