Srinagar, September 10: On Sunday, police in Bandipora used the NDPS Act to seize the property of a pair of ‘notorious’ drug smugglers who were incarcerated.

The property of two renowned drug traffickers, Khursheed Ahmad Waza, son of Ghulam Ahmad Waza, and his wife Posha Begum, inhabitants of Bandipora Ward No. 5, was frozen, according to a Bandipora Police spokesman who posted the information on their X account (formerly Twitter).

The property was unlawfully obtained via the selling of narcotics, and it was taken under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act by the Administration of SAFEM (New Delhi) and the Competent Authority, the spokesman said.

The pair is now detained at Central Jail Srinagar and KotBalwal Jammu under PIT NDPS.
