July 15, Srinagar: Former MP Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the Supreme Court against the Gujarat court’s defamation conviction.

Gandhi’s revision request to postpone his criminal defamation conviction in the ‘Modi Thieves’ statement case was denied by Gujarat HC on July 7.

Gandhi was charged with criminal defamation over a 2019 Lok Sabha campaign comment. Gandhi remarked, “Why do all thieves have the same surname?” referring to Lalit and Nirav Modi.
