According to party sources, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi is scheduled to introduce the motion on August 8, but if it is accepted, the party may choose who would serve as the motion’s main speaker.

The no-confidence motion, according to Parliament insiders, would likely be moved on August 8 and discussed the following two days, on August 9 and 10.

On August 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to respond to the debate on the proposal.

However, the formal announcement of the schedule of business for August 9 and 10 has not yet been made.

The Congress believes that if Rahul Gandhi were to deliver the opening statement on the no-confidence motion, it would have the intended effect and put pressure on the administration.
