Rakesh Balwal, the former head of police in Srinagar, has returned to his native Manipur

Srinagar, September 28: The Indian government has prematurely transferred IPS officer Rakesh Balwal to the Manipur cadre.

Balwal, IPS (MA- 2012), was transferred back to the Manipur cadre from AGMUT per an instruction from the Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.

A copy of the order has been sent to GNS after it was approved at the Ministry of Home Affairs’ suggestion.

It took almost a month, but the Cabinet’s Appointments committee finally approved the MHA’s request.

Rakesh Balwal, currently serving as SSP in Srinagar, shall be transferred to the Manipur Police Department.(GNS)
