On Tuesday, a vehicle carrying the four victims was struck by a boulder fall while travelling on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in the Banihal neighbourhood of Ramban district, according to authorities.

An official reported to Greater Kashmir that a vehicle (registration number JK03J 0312) travelling towards Kashmir was pushed into a canyon by a large rock flow near Sliad Sherbibi.

Police and QRT Ramsoo quickly began a rescue effort, according to SHO Banihal Mohammad Afzal Wani. All four of the passengers, however, perished there.

He said that the corpses had been moved to SDH Banihal.

The officer said that after the avalanche, the roadway was stopped. However, he continued, repair work is already under progress.
