Srinagar, September 3: In light of the recent restructuring of the Public Works (R&B) Department, which included the inclusion of the Departmental Engineering wing, a significant review meeting was called by the Director Fisheries, J&K UT in his office chambers at TRC, Srinagar to obtain a first-hand assessment of all the projects approved under the UT (CAPEX) and HADP programmes for the year 2023–2024.

All of the department’s Joint Directors, Chief Project Officers, and District/Project Officers were present at the meeting.

Each officer was given specific instructions on how to contact the Public Works (R&B) Division as soon as possible within their respective areas.

The fulfilment of important formalities, such as estimation/Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), tendering procedures, and task allocation, is required for development projects that are either already ongoing, waiting to be executed, or that need their completion.

He gave the order to begin on-the-ground implementation without needless transitional period delays.

All Joint Directors were instructed to supervise the process of carrying out works in their respective jurisdictions, making sure that projects are finished on schedule and with wise financial management.

The Department’s current beneficiary-focused programmes under the Prime Minister’s Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and HADP Schemes were thoroughly reviewed by the Director.

All officials were given instructions to exert even more effort in order to meet the financial and physical goals for the current fiscal year within the allotted times.
