On November 26, Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary of Poonch, SDM Mendhar, Mohammad Jhangir Khan, and Executive Engineers of JKSPDC, Mohammad Hussain and Showkat Hussain, toured the Head Race Tunnel (HRT), Penstock, and Power House sites of the Parnai Hydroelectric Project.
The officers made a comprehensive project component visit and assessed the status of work while being accompanied by senior executives from PMC M/s ICCS-Rodics Consortium and EPC Contractor M/s Patel Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for industry-standard safety measures for workers within the Head Race Tunnel during the inspection of the ongoing excavation projects. Additionally, he instructed the EPC contractor to make sure that these safety measures are adhered to rigorously at the construction site.
Following an assessment of every aspect of the project’s development, the contractor received further instructions to quicken all work in order to better serve the public.
The deputy commissioner listened to the public’s complaints and concerns with patience throughout the visit. He requested that the appropriate authorities address the issues raised by the owners of the property that was purchased for the project as well as the concerns of the general public.
Upon completion, the project will address the needs of the general public and benefit the whole local community.
