In Rajouri, on the 24th of October, locals from the hamlet of Targain in the Kotranka sub division petitioned for the reopening of the road between Targain and Budhal, which has been impassable for many days owing to a landslip.
According to Mohammad Azam and other residents in the region, work on this road has been going on for quite some time. There is a black-topped section of road that has been impassable for the last three days due to a landslip.
Even though residents have repeatedly brought up the matter with the Public Works Department, no action has been taken to restore the road.
They demanded a long-term fix for the area, saying that the nearby road often closes due to landslides.
Meanwhile, district administration authorities have said that they are aware of the situation and have sent the appropriate directives to the relevant agency in order to restore the road.
