Samba has begun a massive cleanup effort on the river Devika

11 July, Jammu: Today, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Samba Abhishek Sharma began a large cleaning effort along the River Devika and its environs to promote cleanliness on the sacred site of Purmandal.

The Directorate of Tourism Jammu, the Department of Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, and the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority worked together to organise this community mobilisation cum cleanliness effort. The riverbanks were cleaned of trash, plastics, and other debris as part of the programme. The need of keeping clean was also brought to the public’s attention.
