On Thursday night, terrorists opened fire on a group of workers from Bihar in the hamlet of Gagren, injuring three of them, according to the police in Shopian.

According to a police statement, “today evening time at about 8:45 hours, two pistol borne masked persons entered into the rented accommodation of non-local labourers belonging to advocate Irshad Hussain Sofi S/O Ab Aziz Sofi R/O Gagren about 150 metres away from SOG Camp Gagren Shopian where many non-local labourers are residing on rent basis. They shot three foreigners, wounding three of them. After receiving initial care at the district hospital in neighbouring Shopian, the wounded were sent to the tertiary care centre at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar.

Dr. Rubeena, medical director of the District Hospital in Shopean, revealed that the victims had been shot many times. They were sent to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar due to the severity of their wounds, she said.

According to the police, a large manhunt is now underway to capture the perpetrators.
