On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Administration announced that all future appointments to the faculties of SKIMS Soura and Medical College Bemina under the direct quota system and for gazetted positions would have to go via the J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) after the state gained autonomy.
The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued an order stating, “that the recruitment against all the Gazetted/Faculty vacancies/posts under direct quota, borne on the establishment of SKIMS, Soura as well as SKIMS Medical College, Bemina, henceforth shall be made through J&K Public Service Commission.”
The order was issued by Deputy Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD) Suhaib Mohammad Naikoo and reads, “This is in continuation to this department’s reference No. GAD(Adm)S1/2020-IV Gated 15.01.2021 vide which the SKIMS stands already advised about filling up all ClassIV and Non Gazetted vacancies in the Institute by placing appropriate indents to J&K SSB.”
Further action may be taken in this subject as deemed required, per the order, and this issues with the permission of the appropriate authorities, Lieutenant Governor.
