A Board of Directors meeting is held for the first time at the SKUAST-K incubation center

Srinagar, September 20 – 22, 2018: “An approach to animal disease diagnosis: Hands-on training on histopathology and cytology” Wednesday classes began at the Shuhama campus of Kashmir’s Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.

The training is part of the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) for the institution development of SKUAST-K, supported by the World Bank and the International Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development (ICAR).

Central University of Kashmir, Kashmir University, RRIUM Kashmir University, SP College, and students from SKUAST-Kashmir’s many academic departments are only few of the institutions whose students are taking part in the curriculum. The necessity of holding such skill-based diagnostic hands-on training workshops was emphasised by Prof. Mohammad Tufail Banday, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Chief Guest at the opening session.

Prof. Shoaib Ahmad Kamil, head of the Division of Veterinary Pathology, provided an overview of the division’s operations and short- and long-term objectives in line with the University’s strategy for lab-to-land transfer of technology.
