SMC corporator arrested for “stalking and sexual harassment online”

23 September: Police in Srinagar have detained a Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) corporator on suspicion of sexual harassment.

Aqib Ahmed Renzu, an SMC corporator from Nishat Srinagar, was detained for internet stalking, outraging modesty, and sexual harassment.

The courageous victim submitted solid technical evidence in this case. RM Bagh Police station has received FIR No. 50/2023 U/S 354, 354A, and 354D, according to Srinagar Police’s tweet.
