Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, tweeted the good news of the soldier’s rescue on Thursday night.

It was revealed that the returned soldier was undergoing medical evaluation and will be questioned by many security services in addition to the police.

Police in Kulgam have located the missing Army serviceman. After he has been examined by a doctor, we will begin our joint questioning. Additional information will be forthcoming: ADGP Kashmir,” the Kashmir Zone Police said.

According to police sources, the soldier was found in a fruit orchard in the Chawalgam neighbourhood.

A senior police official told Greater Kashmir, “He has no visible injuries but seems frightened.” A medical team is now examining him.

He reported the arrival of high-ranking personnel from the police, army, and other security services to question him.

His mother had pleaded for his safe return, and the J&K Police, Army, and paramilitary forces had begun a search operation to locate him.

His mother had posted a video appealing for him to come home safely.

“He’s so young and naive. She apologised for anything he may have done wrong in her video message.

She pleaded “to one and all to allow my son to return home,” but she didn’t specify who “one and all” were.
