Students from GDC Nawa Kadal meet with DRS CUK teachers

Nov. 9, Ganderbal: To foster academic exchange between students, research researchers, and faculty members from the two institutions, the Department of Islamic Studies, Government Degree College, Nawa Kadal, paid a visit to the Department of Religious Studies (DRS), Central University of Kashmir (CUK).

The DRS CUK staff gave a demonstration of their curriculum and gave the students from GDC, Nawa Kadal, an overview of the department’s focus areas. The visitors were told that the DRS provides Ph.D., M.A., and M.A. Islamic Studies programs. They were also shown to the library, where college students may familiarize themselves with the reference materials for Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion.

The faculty members of DRS, Drs. M. Zafar, Nazir Ahmad Zargar, Mohammed Ahmed Raza, and Showkat Ahmad Shah, talked with the faculty members of the college, Drs. Shaista Rasool, Nazia Akhter, Farukh Rana, and Saima Manzoor.

The DRS faculty members were questioned by the visiting students on the nature, scope, and applicability of Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion in the Modern World.
