Students from SKUAST-K earn first and second in the national agri-innovation competition

29 September, Srinagar: At the National Agri Innovation Contest in Bhatinda, Punjab, two innovators from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir won first and second place.

At the innovation competition held by Baba Farid School of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Startup Punjab and the Punjabi government, the inventors Owais Ali Wani and Bushra Naaz received first and second place awards, respectively.

There were 112 submissions submitted for the contest from all throughout the nation, and only 18 were chosen to present their inventions in the final round. Six of the 18 selected contenders represented SKUAST-K as they presented their ideas to the judges.

The panel members recommended that additional innovators get in touch with the SKUAST K Incubator for mentoring and other help, in addition to praising the work of the SKUAST K Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship Centre for successfully guiding and mentoring these young brains.

The Director of Startup Punjab’s School of Entrepreneurship and the jury members congratulated the winners.

While congratulating the young innovators and their mentors for bringing distinction to this university, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai praised Prof. Haroon R. Naik, Director of Planning & Monitoring, SKUAST-K, and Naveed Hamid, Chief Executive Officer (SKIIEC), for their important role in fostering a thriving ecosystem for innovation, incubation, and startups.
