Various schools in the Tangdhar and Chamkote Zones of Sub Division Karnah organised Tiranga Rallies today in Kupwara to celebrate India’s Independence Day and the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence under the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign.

Students carrying the national flag and chanting the Rashtragaan sang as they marched towards Teetwal, which lies on the bank of the Kishanganga River (not far from the Line of control).

Teetwal’s Kishanganga River is the de facto border between Pakistan-controlled Kashmir (PoK) and the rest of Kashmir.

Short speeches were given in Teetwal by students discussing India’s liberation movement.

Students and locals of Tangdhar and Teetwal, as well as those passing by on the opposite side of the Line of Control (POK), were inspired by the Tiranga march.

Govt. Boys High School Bahadurkote (Karnah), UPS Ibkote, GCS Ibkote, BMS Murchan, UPS Dringla, BMS Teetwal, BMS Seemari, UPS Sudhpora, BMS Chamkote, UPS Beyari, Govt.High School Gundishat, UPS Pingla, BMS Haridal, UPS Chitterkote, and GMS Chamkote all sent representatives to today’s Tiranga rally.
