The ACB arrested Mohd Reyaz, Tehsil Supply Officer, Rajouri, for allegedly receiving a ₹18,000 bribe

A complaint was filed with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, saying that the complainant had asked Dil Mohd, a ration dealer from Nambla, for the BPL ID of his sibling in order to get a second ration card from his father. Along with the person who filed the complaint, the Ration Dealer went to the Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) in Rajouri and handed over the necessary paperwork so that the problem could be resolved. However, the TSO in Rajouri, Mohd. Reyaz, slowed down the process of issuing BPL ID cards and requested 20,000 in bribes from the complaint in order to provide the cards.
2. The complainant submitted a written complaint to the ACB Police Station in Rajouri with the intention of initiating legal proceedings against Mohd. Reyaz, who was employed as the Tehsil Supply Officer in Rajouri. As the contents of the complaint prima facie indicate the conduct of an act punishable under Section 7 of the PC Act 1988 by the accused public worker, Mohd Reyaz, Tehsil Supply Officer, Rajouri, this allegation will be accepted. As a result, a Case First Information Report (FIR) with the number 05/2023 was filed under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988 at the Police Station Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajouri, and an investigation was begun.
3. A trap team was assembled in the midst of the inquiry that was being carried out. A successful sting operation was carried out by the team, and the accused Tehsil Supply Officer was caught in the act of soliciting and taking a bribe in the sum of $18,000 from the complaining party. After completing all of the required legal procedures, he was taken into custody immediately. After that, a search was also carried out at the residence of the accused person, Mohd. Reyaz, who was working as a TSO in Rajouri.
4. Additional inquiries into the matter are still being conducted.
