Srinagar, August 13: The Vajr top expedition, led by the Snow Leopard Brigade, reached its climax on August 12, when the expedition’s most courageous members raised the national flag atop the highest feature in Chinar Corps at a dizzying altitude of 18044 feet to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsovam as a festival of Awakening of Nation based on the theme Unity aligned by Panch Pranas, as announced by the Prime Minister.

According to a release, Brig Pranav Kumar, Cdr 109 Inf Brigade, hoisted the expedition’s flag on August 4 after inducting the crew inside the Balwan compound.

The crew under Captain Himanshu Gupta’s direction accomplished a technically difficult operation with a steep incline via careful planning and execution. Twelve mountaineers made it to the peak, and they also brought soil from Vajr Top to contribute to the Government of India’s “Meri Maati Mera Desh” project.

There was one officer and thirteen other ranks (ORs) on the mission, all of whom belonged to different regiments under the Vajr Division of the Chinar Corps. the report concluded.
