Oct. 18 in Baramulla: On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha said that drug terrorism and psychological warfare are now major risks that the police and other security forces need to deal with successfully.

“As time goes on and technology improves, drug terrorism and psychological warfare are becoming our biggest problems.” LG said this at the passing-out walk of 510 new trainees in the Sheeri area of the northern district of Baramulla, according to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “J&K Police and other security agencies have to do something about these threats,” LG said.

The LG said that the J&K police are very talented and have done everything possible to protect the respect and honour of the UT. He praised them for fighting on many fronts. “A lot has changed in the last three years, and now the average person can live a peaceful life.” Some bad people are still trying to break the peace because they don’t like it when poor people live quiet lives, the LG said, adding that “J&K police must adopt a zero tolerance policy against these anti-peace elements.”

In one sense, he said, the cops fight fear and terrorism, and in another, they keep the peace. “There are other problems as well, like social crimes, everyday crimes, and normal police work.” “I have to say that the J&K police are the best force in the country,” the LG said, adding that it’s not easy to keep all the pillars of balance in place.

The LG was proud of the police for starting huge civic action programmes to get young people involved in a wide range of sports activities.

According to the LG, new graduates should make a promise to fight evil and terrorism. Young people should make getting rid of terror their main goal.

The LG paid a lot of respect to police officers who had died, like DSP Humayun Bhat and others. He said that J&K and the whole country are grateful to these heroes for giving their lives for their country. Also, he told the police to lead the way in smart policing, which is what Prime Minister Narendra Modi said should happen.
