On Sunday, August 20 in New Delhi, BJP leaders criticised Rahul Gandhi, a member of Congress, for saying that China had stolen Ladakhi land from its rightful owners.

Just what should we anticipate from you? Do you recall Rahul Gandhi ji, who was prime minister under Jawaharlal Nehru, asking how much of India China had occupied before and after the 1962 war? Ravi Shankar Prasad, head of the BJP, remarked during a news conference, “He sets the agenda before he visits.”

Prasad stated, “Rahul Gandhi, it was the official line of your government that on India-China border from Arunachal Pradesh to Ladakh not to make roads, bridges because China will get irritated.” He was referring to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre. We don’t want to aggravate China by building infrastructure, your defence minister A.K. Antony remarked in Parliament. This is your history, then.

You did what in Rafale? Everybody knew now. You have made several really incorrect statements regarding Ladakh. He praised the (Narendra) Modi administration’s dedication to Ladakh’s progress and noted the many positive changes that have been made.

“We are aware that members of the ‘tukde tukde’ gang accompany you. I implore you not to dampen national spirit,” he said.
