The body of a missing teenager was found in a canal near Kangan

A 22-year-old man was found dead in a canal in the Kangan area of the Ganderbal district on Monday, August 7.

According to police sources, after being notified by residents, a police team quickly arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of PDC workers and local volunteers, retrieved the corpse from Power Canal near Satruna Kangan. Rafaqat Ahmad Kasana, 24, from Hariganiwan, who had been missing since July 5 last month, has been confirmed dead.

A law enforcement officer confirmed that the remains had been released to his relatives for burial. He said that a case had been filed with the police and that additional investigation was underway.
