15 July, Srinagar: It was announced today that a Kupwara resident who allegedly faked his educational certificates to secure a government employment has been charged after the Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar of Crime Branch Kashmir compiled a charge-report.

“The charge report was produced in the case FIR No. 64 of 2022 before the Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge Trehgam Kupwara against Qaisar-ud-Din Bajard, S/o Sai Mohammad Bajard, R/o Zirhama, Marhama, District Kupwara for his involvement in commission of offences punishable under Sections 420, 468 & 471 RPC of P/S Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar (Crime Branch Kashmir),” said an official.

He said that a complaint had been received by the Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar (Crime Branch Kashmir) saying that Qaisar-ud-Din Bajard had obtained a government employment as a Jr. Lineman in the Electric Maintenance Division Kupwara by using falsified certificates and credentials.

Accordingly, he added, “the instant case was registered in P/S EOW, Srinagar (Crime Branch Kashmir) in the year 2022 and investigation began.”

As the inquiry progressed, it became clear that the accused had been appointed to his position in the government using fraudulent 8th grade diplomas. Cheating, fraud, and forgery (crimes punishable under Sections 420, 468, and 471) have been proven on account of the accused person’s actions.

The investigation into this matter has found that the accused person is guilty, and the charge report for this case has been submitted to the Hon’ble Court for adjudication.
