The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in Ganderbal held a legal awareness programme on the NLSA (Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation) scheme, 2015, today at Tulmullah in Ganderbal. The event was held under the auspices of the J&K Legal Services Authority and in accordance with the calendar of activities for the month of August.
The event was overseen by the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority in Ganderbal, Ritesh Kumar Dubey, and was directed by the Sub-Judge and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority in Ganderbal, Nusrat Ali Hakak. The purpose of the initiative was to increase people’s understanding of the legal rights and protections that are available to victims of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking. As the number of instances of these heinous crimes continues to rise, it is more important than ever to make certain that the victims receive the necessary legal aid and support to assist them in rebuilding their lives, as well as to educate students about the grave implications of these crimes and encourage them to take proactive steps towards the prevention of these crimes, the support of victims, and the rehabilitation of victims.
