Srinagar, August 19: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir VK Bidhuri said on Saturday that the first batch of smart buses would begin running on August 31.

According to him, the city’s services will alter the game in the future with the employment of new customised buses.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir VK Bidhuri stated in a statement to local media representatives that we have 100 buses planned to operate as part of the Smart City Project. He said that the first batch of smart buses would begin running on August 31 of this year.

“We have previously installed a red smart bus for testing purposes. The smart buses would be introduced on the roadways on a greater scale starting on August 31 this year, according to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir VK Bidhuri.

He claimed that this effort will overcome the lack of transit options in the city and its environs in the evening. “We have built new bus stops in a number of locations. We believe that this initiative under the Smart City Project will alter the game in the future,” he continued.
