10/18/18 Srinagar: Today, officials said that the government of Jammu and Kashmir has set up a group to find foreigners who are overstaying their visas in the UT.

A directive from the Additional Chief Secretary of Home, R. K Goyal approved the creation of a six-person group to find foreigners who have been “illegally or overstaying in the UT of J&K since January 1, 2011.”

It is also said that the group is led by the Financial Commissioner/Additional Chief Secretary Home and has members from the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer at the Bank of India in Amritsar, Punjab; the SSP CID Special Branch in Jammu and Srinagar; all district SSPs and SPs; and the Special Coordinator IVFRT at the NIC J&K.

The group was told to make a monthly report of all the foreigners who go missing in the UT of J&K and send it to the Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI, New Delhi, by the 7th of every month.
