Kupwara, October 29: The exciting finals of the first-ever women’s cricket competition, organised by the Indian Army, took place on Sunday at Bakiaker playground. The winning team was Red Wings Handwara.

Red Wings Handwara defeated Aushtosh Army Goodwill School Budkoot Handwara by a comfortable 68-run margin in the decisive final match. The game was a thrilling demonstration of the skills of the women’s cricket team and a tribute to the value of healthy competition.

A significant number of fans showed out to show their support for their teams, filling the arena with the resounding sounds of cheers and applause. The cricket spectacular was a sight to see because of the passion and excitement that surrounded it.

In recognition of their outstanding performances and contributions to the event, the Red Wings Handwara and the Aushtosh Army Goodwill School Budkoot Handwara were awarded trophies and thrilling cash awards.

Dignitaries and honoured visitors, including Additional Deputy Commissioner of Handwara Nazir Ahmad, attended the championship game. Bashir Ahmad Khan, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Committee of Handwara, DDC Rajwar Mir Sulaiman, Tehsildar Handwara, and many more attended the event. They highlighted the significance of activities that promote sports and inclusion in the area and praised the Indian Army and local community for their joint efforts in organising this historic athletic event.
