On Tuesday, the UT Government chose Deeraj Gupta to serve as the Chairman of JKBOPEE.
He has been given this post under Section 4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002, according to an order of which a copy is on file.
As a temporary measure, Gupta, an IAS officer from the AGMUT-1993 batch who is now the Principal Secretary to the Department of Forestry, Ecology, and Environment, would also be handling the duties of the Chairman of the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations.
Up until the government receives new directives, this system will remain in place.
Raj Kumar Goyal, an IAS officer from the AGMUT-1990 batch who is presently working as the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Home Department, served as the board’s last chairman. KS
