Jammu, October 24: Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department, Sanjeev Verma, today presided over a high-level meeting to assess plans for the upcoming National Unity Week and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2023 festivities.

Participants were the Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, the Additional Director General of Police for Kashmir, and the Secretaries of Culture, Youth Services, and Sports.

Within the general boundaries of the programme declared by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the meeting discussed the finer specifics of the activities intended to be organised for the festivities. It was emphasised that the UT, Divisional, District, Block, and Panchayat levels should all hold fitting celebrations of the Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign, National Unity Week, and the UT Foundation Day in close collaboration with the Police, Youth Services, and Sports and Culture Departments.

The J&K Police have been instructed to hold a march past in all districts and a Unity Run, and festive programmes on national unity have been scheduled in all Union Territory jails and detention facilities.
