6 September, Srinagar In order to provide patients in J&K with free medical care, the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat SEHAT Scheme spends Rs 2 million every day, according to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday.

He made this statement during the opening of a medical camp in Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, and Kulgam that was jointly put on by the Rotary Club of India and the J&K Health Department.

He thanked the medical and nursing professions for their devoted commitment to the public and applauded their accomplishments, in particular their management of the Covid crisis.

“Unlike other states where it is exclusively offered to BPL residents, J&K offers free treatment of Rs 5 lakh to the whole population. I’ve been told that everyone has obtained PMJAY-SEHAT cards,” the man added.

In addition to stating that the J&K government is working tirelessly to close the health disparity for its inhabitants, LG Manoj Sinha noted that J&K’s health indicators are superior to those of other states.

“The oxygen capacity was 14,000 LMP when I arrived, and we increased it to 48,000 LML during the second wave. Even the Mumbai High Court acknowledged the efforts of our vaccine workers, who travelled 15 to 18 kilometres to do their duties.

He also commended the District Administration officials for their outstanding effort, which was sometimes required by the government.
