Kulgam’s Municipal Electoral Roll Observer (Additional District Development Commissioner) Showkat Ahmad Rather presided over an officers’ meeting at the local mini-secretariat to discuss the city’s progress in updating its electoral rolls as part of the special Summary Revision.
According to a statement released by an official here, the Roll Observer discussed recent updates to municipal voter lists.
Priority was given to expanding the scope of the continuing modification as of the July 1, 2023 qualifying date, ensuring that no eligible voter is overlooked.
The chair strongly urged the officers to ensure that a representative sample of the population was included in the municipal voter registration database.
Officers at the polling place were instructed to personally check each voter’s eligibility and correct their information if necessary.
All Polling Station Level Officers (PSLOS), as well as the Electoral Registration Officers (Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam) for Municipal Committee Devsar and Frisal, the Assistant Commissioner of Revenue for Municipal Council Kulgam and Municipal Committee Yaripora, and the Executive Officers of Municipal Committees Kulgam, Devsar, Yaripora, and Frisal.
