He said that once backward Kupwara has become a model for the rest of Jammu and Kashmir.

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony for the indoor stadium’s many uses, the LG said, “Kupwara, once considered a hotbed of terrorism, is now moving ahead on the path of development and peace.”

Invaluable contributions have been made by the people of Kupwara to the development of their country. The district as a whole is already reaping the benefits of this work, he added.

Sinha said that border tourism in Kupwara has grown in popularity over the last few years, and that the government was eager to improve and expand the region’s essential infrastructure in order to draw in even more sightseers.

According to him, “border tourism in Kupwara has never been a priority for regional political parties,” but that’s changed now that there’s a new administration in place.

According to the LG, a multi-purpose indoor stadium costing Rs 4 crore was opened for local players with the aim of providing a wealthy stage and encouraging participation in sports.

According to him, 16 indoor stadiums built with money from the Prime Minister’s Developmental Plan have been dedicated to the young people and athletes of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sinha said that even though Uttar Pradesh is the country’s most populous state, it spends less on sports than Jammu and Kashmir.

Our goal, he said, is to get more young people interested in sports.
