In a recent presentation, Athar Aamir Khan, CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), gave a thorough rundown of all of the projects that the company has done, both finished and in progress. He emphasized the revolutionary changes that have taken place in many important parts of Srinagar, including the Jhelum Riverfront, Lal Chowk in the CBD, Polo High Street, and MA Road. After being ignored for a while, these areas have recently developed into bustling centers of commerce and social interaction, contributing to Srinagar’s dynamic environment.

The effective restoration of Dal Lake Front, where a continuous 5.10 km cycling track has been created along the immaculate lakefront, was one of the presentation’s main themes. The Dal Lakefront has become much more appealing as a result of this expansion, drawing large numbers of tourists long into the evening and adding to its newly discovered liveliness.

The CEO of SSCL also emphasized the current projects in Shehr-e-Khaas and stressed how important they are to the growth of Srinagar. The renovation of Shehr-e-Khaas’s historic marketplaces and the major thoroughfares that lead to this region have been the key priorities of SSCL. Comprehensive renovation is underway along important access corridors such as Dalgate-Gojwara Road, Nallah-Mar Road, and the streets that border Jamia Masjid, Maharaj Gunj, Zaina Kadal Market, Ali Kadal, Nawakadal, and Jamalhatta. These interventions take several forms: subterraneaning telecom and power facilities; improving road surfaces; placemaking at intersections; offering public amenities; creating shared pedestrian streets; bettering drainage and sewage networks; and enhancing the facades of historic buildings. In the near future, these coordinated efforts should bring back Shehr-e-Khaas’ splendor.

Additionally, the CEO of SSCL highlighted the organization’s persistent efforts to bring back water transport as a public transit option in Srinagar City, highlighting the dedication to a comprehensive and inclusive urban transportation system for the citizens of the city.

Comprehensive discussions about the advancement of SSCL’s several projects took place throughout the session. Participants then offered insightful opinions, recommendations, and insights, all of which the Srinagar Smart City team carefully recorded. The guests were praised for their consistent support of SSCL’s efforts to ensure the timely and effective completion of the projects.

A vote of gratitude was taken by everybody in attendance to finish the meeting. Recognition and appreciation were given to the hard work of the Srinagar Smart City Limited team, as well as the active participation and devotion of line departments, varied organizations, merchants’ fraternity, and members of civil society.
