SRINAGAR, 25 NOVEMBER: Manoj Joshi, the union secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), traveled to Srinagar today to inspect the development work being done as part of the Srinagar Smart City Project.

Keshav Varma, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Smart City, is traveling with the Union Secretary on his two-day visit to Srinagar.

During the visit, key executives from allied departments were present, including Principal Secretary H&UDD Prashant Goyal, CEO SSCL/Commissioner SMC Athar Aamir Khan, VC LCM Bashir Ahmad, ACEO SSCL/Joint Commissioner SMC Riyaz Ahmad Shah, GM (UD) SSCL Anuj Malhotra, and others.

In order to assess the status of the finished and continuing projects, Manoj Joshi started the tour by visiting Dal Lake Sunset Plaza on Boulevard, Char Chinari, Cycle Track Nishat Sathu, Nishat Selfie Point, Northern Foreshore Road, Shalimar Canal, Dal-Habbak STP at Habbak, and Mahraj Gunj Downtown.

Later, in the TRC meeting hall, Principal Secretary H&UDD gave a PowerPoint presentation on solid waste management and continuing centrally sponsored schemes, which the Union Secretary chaired.

In addition, the Union Secretary had discussions on the implementation and execution of GOI measures to bring Srinagar up to speed with all of the nation’s metro and smart city centers with the officials of affiliated departments such as Jal Shakti, PDD, R&B, I&FC, P&UD, etc. He gave the government assurances that it would do all in its power to support the overall growth of the University of Kashmir.

The Union Secretary acknowledged and expressed gratitude to all of the officers and affiliated departments and agencies for their contributions to the Smart City Project’s accomplishment.

The Union Secretary also went to Polo View Market, Zero Bridge, Jehlum Right Bank Riverfront, and Riverfront Rajbagh.

The Union Secretary was informed by Khan, the CEO of SSCL and Commissioner of SMC, on the current smart city projects.

Regarding the renovation of the Mahraj Gunj Market, the dignitaries received a thank-you note from the Mahraj Gunj Shop Keepers Association representatives.
